AEPS Competitions

All Association of Essex Philatelic Society (AEPS) members have the opportunity every year to enter county competitions to display their collections. If we enjoy collecting stamps and get pleasure from enjoying our pleasure with others, this is the greatest prize of all.

Introduction

In all competitions it is advisable to let your club or competitions secretary know in advance, which category you intend to complete in and the title of your display. There are limits to the number of displays that can be given in each category.

The Spring Competitions
All entries consist of 16 sheets and the subjects are:

a) Stamps & Postal Stationery
b) Postal History and Postmarks
c) Aerophilately
d) Postcards

Each society is allowed a maximum of two entries in each section and more for the postcard category. The closing date for entries is end February and need to be handed into your club secretary.

The Autumn Competition

Again all entries must consist of 16 pages the closing date is end August, all entries must be handed into your club secretary
e) Cinderella
f) Thematics
g) Literature
h) Modern Material (From August 1984 to the present day)

The more entries each society puts forward for the AEPS competitions the more points each society could get towards the "Stokes Cup” and the "Presidents Award". No entry needs to be perfect just the best that you can make it. In all competitions it is the taking part that counts and the expert advice given by the judges will help improve your display techniques and philatelic skills.
